THE WHITE SIDE OF THE STORY

My friends Mike & Emma Cobb sent me the following message that has no source identified. I do not know how or if Pat Buchanan actually wrote this as a letter, published it as an op-ed or actually broadcast it on his CNN show but the message is factual and represents many Americans views. The Democrats will scream that Obama is no longer running but then neglect to say who is running. How soon people forget that Clinton was called our “First Black President”. He was just a tool for his Marxists and beloved wife Hillary and her radical friends to do the same things Obama has done. If you think Obama is a radical put on your seatbelt as Hillary will skip Socialism and finish the Progressives goal to make America a Communists society. Then you will no longer own anything. Racism is the only way they can divide America and they have perfected the way to use it. Laugh now but when they take your savings and property your kids can shed the tears.  C Brewer

THE STORY

This is the reason CNN has dropped Buchanan. It’s like Newt G. Said, “you’re not supposed to bring up uncomfortable Facts.”

Finally………….It is Said Publicly. I have never seen the white side explained better!

Pat Buchanan had the guts to say it. It is about time!!

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA

By Patrick J. Buchanan

You say we need to have a conversation about race in America. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to…. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard.

And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Jeremiah Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude??

Obama talks about new ‘ladders of opportunity’ for blacks. Let him go to Altoona? And Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for ‘deserving’ white kids…? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Obama aware that black-on-white rapes are 100  times (1000 %) more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times (1390 %) as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago. This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear!!!

OK……….will you pass it on? I did but will you?

Because I’m for a better America. I am Not racist, Not violent, We just want peace, Just not silent anymore.

In GOD we trust

Obama, said today “race relations is better now, then when he took office 6 years ago”.

I think he went the psycho mushroom festival in Colorado today.   ANON

AMERICAN VETERANS CARE – RED TAPE AND DISCRIMINATION!

THE US GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

I sincerely hope this article makes you sick. The only people we have treated worse than the Indians, including illegal aliens, are our military veterans. I am extremely qualified to state the facts and verify the specific facts documented in the letter I ask to post as I am a veteran of the military. I am not a veteran of any combat or foreign service although I have likely visited and worked in more foreign countries, thirty-two to be specific, than 96% of every lobbyist, Congressman or the White House “Kingdom”. I volunteered and with my parents approval, I joined the US Navy Reserve in 1947 when I was 17. The Korean War seemed imminent and I volunteered for active duty in April 1948 and was honorably discharged on August 30, 1952. I had to serve an additional year as all enlistments were extended during the Korean war.

I only ask one time for any federal veteran benefit, some help with some uninsured drugs, and it was denied because I was earning more than the current poverty level. I did earn a military funeral but I have ask my wife not to even notify anyone from our government except my Federal Entitlement benefit that used to be called Social Security so they will not harass her. Writing this blog demands that I read facts and when I read a copy of this letter in our weekly local Sabine County Reporter, it disturbed me deeply. To even think we treat our veterans worse than illegal aliens is unbelievable. In essence an eligible veteran is treated worse by our government than the Democrats and illiterates (some are not both), who never worked or intend to work and draw welfare.

Even Medicaid is more responsive as the new VA Choice Card. The fact that all doctors in rural areas are not qualified is just another bureaucratic waste of time and money. The fact that our only hospital director or Board had no information is just another way to deny veterans benefits equal to aliens. They should be given the same benefits as I receive with Medicare and the government should pay their deductibles and premiums that I have to pay. Shut down the Veterans hospitals or make them available to everyone. Set the veterans free from oppression.

Please read this and pass this on to everyone you know. The really sad part is that the media, including Fox, has reported this change as an added benefit to our veterans. For Gods sakes how can what this letter describes be viewed as an improvement of any kind.

Bob Kustermann  is a good friend on mine along with all of the other veterans in Sabine County Texas.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to ask for your help with the new VA Choice Card. I received mine about a month and a half ago and called the number that was on the card to make sure I was qualified for this benefit, which it turns out, I am.

I live in Hemphill, Texas with the nearest VA clinic in Lufkin, Texas, approximately 60 miles away. The information I received indicated that if you live more than 40 miles from the nearest VA clinic or your VA appointment was more than 30 days away, you could see a local doctor.  The VA also indicated that our local hospital, Sabine County Hospital, and local doctors are currently eligible to participate.

When I first called, the VA asked for my information and said for me to call back in 7 days  to see if I was qualified.  The VA then informed me that if I needed an appointment with a local doctor to call them back and the VA would set up the appointment.  The VA then informed me it would take another 7 days to get this appointment approved, taking 14 days from the initial call to just schedule the appointment, not yet seeing a doctor for treatment.

One of my concerns is that I am required to have a physical exam twice a year.  In order to accomplish this I must travel the 60 miles to the Lufkin VA clinic two weeks in advance of my physical exam for blood work, and of course the 60 mile return trip, for a five-minute lab test.  I then have to make the 120 mile round trip two weeks later for the physical exam.  Many of the veterans I help in Sabine County cannot either physically make the trip to Lufkin or cannot financially afford the trip.

I recently was granted the opportunity to make a presentation on the VA Choice Card to our local Hospital Board.  Hospital Administrator Diana Taylor informed me that she has placed several phone calls and sent two emails to the VA within the past month requesting forms and other information to become eligible to participate in the program, but has received no response.

It is my understanding that there is only one local doctor that is eligible to participate in the program, but getting in to see him is a very lengthy process requiring the veteran to phone the VA and request an appointment with the local doctor; the veteran is then required to call the VA back in 5 to 7 days to find out when the appointment is scheduled with the local doctor; the appointment will likely be scheduled around 7 days away, with the total days spent now at 12 to 13 days; if a prescription is written by the doctor, it takes another 7 to 10 days to receive the medicine in the mail, making the total time thus far 19 to 23 days.

Common sense tells me that if a veteran has to wait up to 2 weeks for an appointment and 3 weeks before receiving medicine from the onset of their condition, the likelihood of the condition worsening, or become fatal, is a real possibility, requiring additional, and likely, more intense medical care.

The bureaucratic strings attached to the VA Choice Card are NOT helping veterans, but merely painting over and covering up systemic problems in a widely documented troubled agency.

Any assistance you can provide, not only to me but to all veterans to expedite their receipt of quality healthcare will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Robert Kustermann

I ask that you send a copy of this letter to every Congress Person, Governor, State Representative and Senator if you can get their address. WASHINGTON WITCHCRAFT- PART TWO

How man people listened to Hillary Clinton dance around the fact that she violated federal law by using a personal E Mail account all the time she served as Secretary of State representing the United States of America. Remember she is the likely Democratic candidate for election in 2016 to be President of the United States. She is a lawyer, wife of William Jefferson Clinton who served eight years as President of the United States.

I have followed the history of her activity and politics from the time her esteemed husband served as Governor of the great State of Arkansas. Her short-lived position with the Department of Justice made great credits for he resume when she was fired.

What really blew me away in her interview was her response that she had no second thoughts because others had done this in the past. Now analyze that simple revelation, “others have done it.”

Looking at history “others” have committed fraud, others have lied, others have evaded income taxes, others have accepted unlawful foreign money, others have been dis-barred and lost their law license, others have pardoned convicted felons, others have been impeached by Congress, others have committed adultery, others have committed voter fraud and I feel sure this list could involve more illegal activities.  One of those others, Richard Nixon, actually resigned from office when he was caught red-handed stealing and hiding opponents records.

We all know that her husband should have resigned but Democrats can escape punishment in America. When you look at what the others have done, Bill Clinton has actually done most of the actions. In fact Hillary has already committed several of these “other”actions all by herself.

If anyone who believes one word the Clinton’s utter will be anything that helps anyone other than themselves they are morons. They perfected the art of lying to a level unprecedented until Obama elevated lying to a new plateau well beyond their comprehension.

The really sad statement she made while running for President against Obama was her specific statement that the Bush administration violated the same laws she violated later. If there was a picture next to the definition of the word “Hypocrite” in the dictionary it would be a picture of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

If Hillary is nominated by the Democrats they have scrapped the bottom of the barrel searching for a “leader”. The only Democratic Presidents in recent history that might be worse leaders than the Clinton’s would be Lyndon Johnson and Obama. They all make Nixon look like a saint. At least he had the gonads to resign.

Politicians are no longer expected to obey the laws and far too many Americans really don’t care.  I do!

GOVERNMENT SERVICES?

Has anyone experienced a massive increase in junk calls recently? Before you waste a lot of time this article might save you a lot of time. We are senior citizens who have earned the pleasure of sleeping later than normal who are sick of being awakened with a telephone call, often before 8am. The reverse of this is what is described as a Robocall we got recently at 9:45pm on a Sunday evening. These Robocalls are actually computers designed to call your number and when you answer there is no one there but shortly you receive another call from a person who knows you are home.

By the way the National Do-not-call list, provided by our Federal government is a waste of time like every other bureaucratic mis-managed service available. You have to register every year and it is worthless help. On February 19th I tried to see if another state agency was any better and sent the following message to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC).

“Starting at 8:04 this morning we have received 10 calls from 877-218-4381. It rings 4 times and hangs up. We are elderly and in addition we get 4 to six calls from various charities and as late as 9:45 last Sunday night. We are on the no call list and this is disturbing us deeply. It there anything we can do to stop this or should we stop our phone service that will not allow our children to check on us? Surely there must be a simple way to stop this intrusion? We could use cell service but unfortunately living close to the Louisiana border on Toledo Bend Lake we do not get 100% service and virtually none inside our house”.

I have tried to get some help from the PUC regarding the lousy electric service we have with the Deep East Texas Electric Co-Op for several years but the PUC is as useless as the Do-Not-Call program. The following is my rapid response, likely a prepared answer, with the errors you can see.

Subject: RE: Question

Mr. Brewer:

Thank you for contacting the Public Utility Commission of Texas. The No Call list is intended for legitimate Telemarketers that are selling goods or services.

If you find that you receive solicitation calls from telemarketers you may file a complaint. If the calls you are receiving are exempt from the No Call list(Debt Collectors, State Licensees, ect.) or are “scams” or harassing  you may contact the Attorney General of Texas at 1-800-621-0508 to file a complaint.

To file a No Call Complaint with the PUCT please provide the following information:

  • Your name, address, and telephone number
  • Telemarketers Name(if available) and telephone number
  • Date and Time of Calls

No Call List FAQ’s- http://www.puc.state.tx.us/consumer/phone/Consumer_faq.aspx

Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions.

I responded with this short response; “I thought this was a complaint?” The following was their response.

Thank you for your recent correspondence. If the calls referenced in your initial email were made trying to sell you a product or service, please provide a description of the solicitation along with your address.

If the calls were harassing in nature( scams, hang ups, ect) you can report the calls to the Attorney General’s office at 1-800-621-0508.

Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,                 The same address was affixed.

Pay particular attention to the response from the PUC in red above and think deeply what they ask for you to do to file a complaint. The most impressive thing I noticed was the consistent misuse of the term “ect”, even my spell check shows the misuse. It is obvious that they are telling me if I have a complaint to contact the Attorney General of Texas to file a complaint. I have wasted enough time in the Federal/State bureaucracy’s. They are useless.

In the last 48 hours I have received calls from; 952-204-9839, 409-684-2209, 267-295-6632, 214-390-3145, 728-504-1509, 877-283-4162, 877-238-6733, 699-289-7430, 484-273-0072, 484-273-0072, 922-951-3210, 678-899-6533, 877-218-836, 786-284-5092, 520-448-8183, 415-802-2946, 817-717-9891, 409-625-4658, 609-208-7430, 504-272-2635.

We seldom answer any call if they don’t identify who they are. We have answered calls from insurance companies, charities, the Republican National Committee whose calls were not blocked by the Do-Not-Call program long after we re-registered again this year. Why do we have to re-register is a mystery but so is every aspect of our Federal government.

I also have a fax line and so far I get few calls on this line. It has the ringer turned off and I don’t put ink in the printer. I had one sales call on this line while I was typing this article.

Surprisingly I get twice as much spam on my E mail accounts than irritable calls on my phones. Without any government meddling or control I can just hit a button on the PC and the caller who issues spam is blocked forever from sending me anymore spam. Fast, effective and free from government intervention and control.

But fear not my friends as this freedom is short lived as it was announced just this week that our “regulation gone-mad- government and our President” has decided that the internet needs to be controlled by the government. Read the following link and get ready for more spam you can’t block when the idiots get control of one more freedom. In fact the prime reason for the FCC regulations move is to immediately block people like me from expressing my opinions anymore.

  www.breitbart.com/…/fcc-approves-net-neutrality-plan-to-contr

I hope you are pleased with our bureaucracy today, I am not. I have run out of government agencies to help me stop harassment by telephone. I just ordered a blocker to stop the Robocalls but the government will probably outlaw them next.

Oh, we got our first irritating call today at 7:34am  from someone named “Willcox at 520-254-0154. This will be the first number I enter in the new blocker when it arrives Thursday. I will also send a copy of this post to the PUCT so they can correct their form letters.

GROWING OLD

Inspirational things to think about . . .

Sitting here today with it raining, forecast to rain for three more days, I was wondering if spring would ever arrive. At 84, and arthritis getting worse my thoughts were focused on how much longer I would enjoy not having to depend on others to just live another day. When the weather allows I now can only play golf on a great small par three course close to my home. My right knee hurts every step I take but I know that exercise is necessary to live that other day. Thankfully my intellect usually overrides my laziness and having lived longer than any male in the history of my family I am in no hurry to depart.

Bored to the bone I decided to read my E mails to pass the time of day. Fortunately I read a message from Mike & Emma Cobb that quickly refocused my priorities. I decided you might also have bad days and may help you if you read the rest of this article.

I intend to save this on my desktop so I can read it every time I need to inspire myself in the future. I have no idea who compiled this information but I decided to share this on my blog. My thanks to the Cobb’s who are old dear friends.

Real life stories that teach you many things in life. Excellent reading these are based on true incidences both wonderful and inspirational. ANON

“Today, I interviewed my grandmother for part of a research paper I’m working on for my Psychology class.  When I asked her to define success in her own words, she said, “Success is when you look back at your life and the memories make you smile.”

“Today, I asked my mentor – a very successful business man in his 70s – what his top 3 tips are for success.  He smiled and said, “Read something no one else is reading, think something no one else is thinking, and do something no one else is doing.”

“Today, after a 72 hour shift at the fire station, a woman ran up to me at the grocery store and gave me a hug.  When I tensed up, she realized I didn’t recognize her. She let go with tears of joy in her eyes and the most sincere smile and said”, “On 9-11-2001, you carried me out of the World Trade Center.”

“Today, after I watched my dog get run over by a car, I sat on the side of the road holding him and crying. And just before he died, he licked the tears off my face.”

“Today at 7AM, I woke up feeling ill, but decided I needed the money, so I went into work.  At 3PM I got laid off. On my drive home I got a flat tire. When I went into the trunk for the spare, it was flat too.  A man in a BMW pulled over, gave me a ride, we chatted, and then he offered me a job. I start tomorrow.”

“Today, as my father, three brothers, and two sisters stood around my mother’s hospital bed, my mother uttered her last coherent words before she died. She simply said, “I feel so loved right now. We should have gotten together like this more often.” This one hit me hard. CB

“Today, I kissed my dad on the forehead as he passed away in a small hospital bed. About 5 seconds after he passed, I realized it was the first time I had given him a kiss since I was a little boy. Ouch! CB

“Today, in the cutest voice, my 8-year-old daughter asked me to start recycling.  I chuckled and asked, “Why?” She replied, “So you can help me save the planet.”  I chuckled again and asked, “And why do you want to save the planet?”  Because that’s where I keep all my stuff,” she said.”

“Today, when I witnessed a 27-year-old breast cancer patient laughing hysterically at her 2-year-old daughter’s antics, I suddenly realized that I need to stop complaining about my life and start celebrating it again.”

“Today, a boy in a wheelchair saw me desperately struggling on crutches with my broken leg and offered to carry my backpack and books for me. He helped me all the way across campus to my class and as he was leaving he said, “I hope you feel better soon.”

“Today, I was feeling down because the results of a biopsy came back malignant. When I got home, I opened an e-mail that said, “Thinking of you today.  If you need me, I’m a phone call away.”  It was from a high school friend I hadn’t seen in 10 years.”

Today, I was traveling in Kenya and I met a refugee from Zimbabwe. He said he hadn’t eaten anything in over 3 days and looked extremely skinny and unhealthy. Then my friend offered him the rest of the sandwich he was eating”. The first thing the man said was, “We can share it”.

“The best sermons are lived, not preached.”  ANON

Today I decided to make sure I did not annoy my wife, Norma, who usually suffers when I can’t play golf. I just cooked her favorite meal of scrambled eggs, sausage, hot biscuits with home grown dark honey from Clem Manuel, another dear friend. As it is supposed to rain all night and again tomorrow I will have this to cheer me up again.

CONSERVATIVES ARE FOOLS!

Sadly I include myself in this category because we know what is right for America but we do not know how to express ourselves with modern political words. Modern liberals have perfected the ability to make “Bull S—T” sound like music to the ears of the poor, disadvantaged, illegal and gullible, especially the females of all nationalities. This opening should make enough of them mad enough to read the rest of my article.

My dear friend Phillip Sizer, who has been one of my mentors recently sent me a copy of a true conservative newspaper. This publication is the American Free Press and is published every two weeks. I highly recommend this publication and if you have a computer you can subscribe to an online rather than a copy by mail. Phil called to see if I had read a recent article and when I did read it, it motivated me to create this posting. The Article is titled, “Want More Wars?”, by Willis A Carto.

The opening paragraph begins with a statement that “Liberal TV personality Ed Schultz has a question:

“What is going on?” he asks. Why is the U.S. involved in apparently senseless war across the globe? Why does the media go along with the State Department promoting these wars? All of our foreign interventions do nothing but create and escalate the hatred of foreigners against our country.

This appears to be the standard answer the Progressive-Liberals, especially the Democratic ones use as a reason to preach their Socialists sermons and Obama’s “share the wealth” crusade to bankrupt America.

Mr. Carto responds with “The answer is simple when you think about it.” This is where I will not argue that his facts are not accurate but the cures can be more dangerous than the causes.

Mr. Carto notes that we have irresistible forces in “our” country that want war and plenty of it. “War is extremely profitable for some. We point to the arms manufacturers, for example. These folks are good at making rifles, cannon, battleships, uniforms, shoes. The list goes on.”

He relates that, “War is a very profitable business. And their customer always pays promptly. If the customer—Uncle Sam—runs out of money, he can get unlimited amounts from the friendly Rothschild bank called the Federal Reserve, which just manufactures money when needed and adds it to the “national” debt”.

He goes on to say that, “All of these nice, very rich folks have many nice, well-paid salesmen in Washington. Some are lobbyists and some are in Congress. With the backing of the newspapers, special-interest pressure groups, armament lobbies and many members of Congress, count on them to get the job done”.

“Their bread and butter is war. Never mind what you as a taxpayer or the poor saps who join the Army—often because they can’t find a useful job at home—-want. So off they go in a nice uniform. Off they go to shoot at guys in other armies or who are desperately trying to protect their homeland no matter what it costs in lives and human suffering”.

Now this is where I draw the line and disagree with blaming American industry for promoting wars. 100% of the blame for wars is created by the friendly people like the Rothschild’s he mentions as the providers of funds. These money monsters scattered around the world are the real ones who benefit from wars. America is not the only producer of weapons of war because we have bankers in every country lapping up profits of war.

The “War Whores” are the elected politicians, like our Congress persons and government bureaucrats that seek both power and money to hang on to the government teat they are sucking dry every time they buy war supplies. We don’t have to stop buying products of war or to create products for the future like space exploration. All we need to do is stop wasting money on things we don’t need or even plan to use. Some consider this nothing more than “White Collar Welfare” and a way to entice independents to vote for Democrats.

When the military decides to close a Fort or Post the screams from Congress are deafening. When they try to cancel a weapon, aircraft, etc. that is not needed, the same screams from the politicians and bureaucrats is heard around the world. Now we have a President that is hell-bent on destroying the military systematically and with the precision of a surgeon with a scalpel.

Why do we still have American troops in Japan, Korea and Germany to maintain the peace after 60-70 years after the war?

I spent 27 years in the aerospace business that is sustained in some respects by the “War Whores” with useless and poorly managed oversight. I will always remember a sign I saw years ago that zero in on this waste and still does today. It read, “An elephant is actually a mouse built on a costs-plus, single source bid of US government contract”.

Mr. Carto also brings up our mission to force “democracy” on the benighted denizens of lesser nations. We both agree that we really need to force “democracy” on our current President and all of the Democrats right here in the good old United States of America. They are destroying our Republic, our Constitution and the Bill-of-Rights today.

One other point that Congress fails to grasp or adequately explain to the public is Mr. Carto’s statement, “Withdrawal from a policy of continual war would mean a depression for the U.S. far worse than the one of the thirties. It would mean riots by the jobless, a cutoff of welfare for the blacks as well as the whites and an unpredictable future”. This my friends is why “Common Sense” leadership is the only way out of our fiscal mess. The problem is there are no Republican leaders in sight that can win an election and the Democrats are the only party that can baffle the people with Bull S…T. They own the media and propaganda is now their message.

I want to thank Phil, The American Free Press and Mr. Willis A Carto for the motivation to write this article. We do have a Republican with fire in his belly that is capable of leading us back to common sense named Ted Cruz, unfortunately he could never win the Presidency as the media would crucify him immediately with lies, innuendoes and propaganda.

Obama’s Free Stuff Army

The lure of something for nothing grows as morality crumbles.

I received permission from Robert Knight to post this article that is as topical as anything I have read recently. You will find a link to the original article in the Washington Post. Thanks Robert,  C Brewer

By Robert Knight – – Sunday, January 25, 2015

Fresh from offering “free” health care, “free” phones and “free” food to the masses, he’s upped the bribery to “free” community college tuition and “free” child care. It’s not that the Clintons oppose any of these; they just need to affect moderation in case Hillary runs for president and has to knock back boilermakers again with the good old boys in Pennsylvania taverns.

Since someone has to pay for these expensive, new entitlements to the Free Stuff Army, Mr. Obama has proposed yet another “tax the rich” scheme that, if enacted (which is unlikely) would eventually plunder working-class families. To liberals, that’s what tax “reform” is all about.

Over a few decades, the U.S. government has morphed into a gigantic income-redistribution machine, the ultimate mugger.

Since the New Deal, the only serious challenge to the mentality of plunder in both major parties came during the Reagan administration. To true believers like Mr. Obama, the Reagan years were a speed bump on the way to transforming America, and something to pretend to admire to keep the suckers ignorant.

Government is necessary because men are not angels. Its legitimate role is to secure justice by punishing evildoers, and to protect property and individual rights. Government does other things, such as delivering mail and public works — things like roads, water and sewage.

But its main focus has become redistribution of wealth in the name of “compassion” and “equality.” Its sheer growth and trillions of dollars of debt coincides with the rise of the Free Stuff Army, whose ranks have swelled exponentially with Mr. Obama’s edicts and economic malaise.

In 1850, faced with a tide of sentiment toward socialism, French legislator Frederic Bastiat confronted the left’s claims of government superiority with a timeless critique, “The Law.” In fact, after the Bible, C.S. Lewis’ “The Screwtape Letters,” and Shakespeare, “The Law” is arguably the most penetrating analysis of human nature.

Bastiat began by echoing truths about God and man that animated America’s Founders:

“[G]ifts from God precede all human legislation, and are superior to it. Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.” Add marriage to that list.

He then explained why governments inevitably fall into redistribution:

“Man can live and satisfy his wants only by ceaseless labor; by the ceaseless application of his faculties to natural resources. This process is the origin of property. But it is also true that a man may live and satisfy his wants by seizing and consuming the products of the labor of others. This process is the origin of plunder.

“Now since man is naturally inclined to avoid pain — and since labor is pain in itself — it follows that men will resort to plunder whenever plunder is easier than work. When they can, they wish to live and prosper at the expense of others. This is no rash accusation. Nor does it come from a gloomy and uncharitable spirit. The annals of history bear witness to the truth of it.”

As such, it is easy to succeed by promising something for nothing — the politicians’ mantra. A modern, liberal fiction is that government officials are somehow immune to human foibles such as greed. They are nicer than we are — as long as other people pay for it. The system they have built is functionally Marxist, deploying government force to extract “from each according to his ability to each according to his needs.”

Armed with an accurate view of human nature, America’s Founders did their best to ensure that man’s worst tendencies would not lead to tyranny and that man’s God-given talents could flourish. Still, they apparently underestimated the power of something for nothing.

The forces cultivating personal responsibility are the church, the family and the American spirit of liberty, all of which liberals have targeted in a relentless culture war. If you still think the drive to legalize same-sex “marriage” is about marriage, you haven’t been paying attention to the leftists’ war on normalcy, privacy, religion and — ultimately — freedom. Not satisfied with plundering our wallets, they are plundering society’s moral capital.

If the Supreme Court does the dirty deed and institutionalizes a counterfeit, it will force tens of millions of Americans to lie. More power will accrue to those who expand the enforcement machinery of “equality” into all areas of life. Resistance to big government will cost far more than it does now.

Leading the charge in this radical remaking of America is Barack Obama, general of the Free Stuff Army, which grows as the moral foundations crumble.

Bastiat perhaps had someone like him in mind when he wrote 165 years ago:

“There are too many ‘great’ men in the world — legislators, organizers, do-gooders, leaders of the people, fathers of nations, and so on, and so on. Too many persons place themselves above mankind; they make a career of organizing it, patronizing it, and ruling it.”

SABBATICAL TIME!

Every time I question the value of my work I hear from the same six or seven friends who encourage me to continue my research and writing. I deeply appreciate this support. My 800th article, “ANOTHER OIL CRISIS”, published January 12th was in my opinion one of the most profound messages I ever tried to share. I spent most of an entire weekend reading and recalling my personal experiences to share a message I had hoped would impact someone. The way our government has helped manipulate, regulate, tax, and issue propaganda trying to destroy our domestic oil and gas industry in my lifetime is insane.

I suppose we have so much information and bias today it is difficult for us all to search out the truth. When you can’t rely on our own President to tell the truth and watch him and the main stream media memorize enough voters to re-elect him, we are doomed to failure. He can ignore the Constitution while Congress and the Supreme Court just watch and hide while the destruction of the worlds greatest country is underway.

My last article posted was sent to 275 subscribers. It was posted on Facebook and over 100 friends got notice. It was posted on Twitter and LinkedIn and I have no statistics to how many people subscribe. I sent a copy to another 88 people by E mail. I have not receives a single “Like” on any of these locations and not one comment from anyone on any of these sites. I got one phone call from Phil Sizer, who is one of my oldest friends, to tell me I was 100% correct with every fact in my article. So far maybe a dozen random hits have been recorded on WordPress, maybe by accident?

I will continue to read avidly and watch Obama continue his destructive assault on our freedoms. The six or seven avid friends and supporters will likely see my feelings expressed in E messages like they do now. I will take some time off to evaluate the time it takes to do the formal WordPress postings as it appears I am wasting my time and money.

ANOTHER OIL CRISIS?

NO, JUST ANOTHER AMERICAN POLITICAL MOVE TO PROTECT SAUDI AND OPEC INTERESTS!

This will be the 800th article I have posted on this blog and one that is extremely important. Anyone who denies history repeats itself has never worked in the petroleum industry. After spending 27 years in the aerospace industry I made a career change in 1978 and accepted an executive position with Otis Engineering that was a major part of the Halliburton Corporation. I spent my last sixteen years working in the petroleum industry. Am I an expert? No. But I did learn enough and know what to read and how to express myself professionally. My conservative views were developed over my 84 years as a freedom loving American. I challenge you to prove me wrong with verifiable facts.

I would be remiss to omit that the reason I made this career change. Our US Department of the Interior imposed a new regulation on the petroleum industry that was similar to the regulations developed by the NRC several years before. The exploration and production operations in the oil industry were baffled along with every company that designed and manufactured surface and sub-surface safety valves used in US offshore waters. Unlike the NRC program that covered all equipment used in a power plant this regulation was only required on two of the hundreds of devices used to drill and produce oil and gas. If all devices like the blowout preventer had been included the BP accident may have been avoidable. Another unusual feature of the regulation, it was not required on any onshore wells, government lands included. My 27 years work with government regulations and a new Masters Degree were a valuable asset during this period.

I missed the 1973 oil crisis but when the second man-made crisis erupted in 1983 I chose to try my lifelong dream to start my own company. I suppose I should thank OPEC and our government for creating this crisis. This allowed me to successfully end my work career by exceeding the achievement of every goal I had set for myself as a young man.

When will the American voters get enough of these government sponsored events that stop or critically cripple the American petroleum industry to create jobs and threaten OPEC’s manipulation of oil prices. Every time they force the American companies to stop drilling, it only helps OPEC eventually. After they cripple our petroleum industry, it is obvious it will take years to get it revived at costs that are just wasted to help the Arabs.

I suppose that crippling the petroleum industry to make foreign and American bankers richer is better than starting political wars to achieve the same purposes is better, but why do either? I have lived through so many political wars and energy crises to make the rich richer and the politicians more powerful that make me sick.

Do you realize that until the government and OPEC started this last crisis what the oil industry had accomplished? U.S. oil production increased from 5.6 million barrels a day in 2010, to a current rate of 9.3 million barrels a day. The government and OPEC tried to kill this boom by scaring people with propaganda about the dangers of fracking.

Until the Arabs got greedy and artificially increased the price of crude above $100 a barrel, fracking was not an option due to costs. We have known about the shale oil deposits in America for a long time but producing it was estimated to be at least $50 a barrel as far back as the 1980’s when I was with Halliburton. Until late last year and this latest crisis, it was obvious that US oil output would keep rising in 1 million barrel-plus annual leaps for years to come.

The recent drop in oil prices poses another major challenge to oil producers. Wall Street analysts, politicians and even some industry experts claim the setback will be brief and minor. Just history repeating itself with man-made crises again.

Shale oil production is totally unlike oil production in any other part of the world. In conventional wells, whether in the Middle East, the Gulf of Mexico or the North Sea. When prices drop, however, almost all conventional wells keep pumping. That’s because the variable cost of lifting the crude is still far lower than the prices it fetches on the world market.

I just read a quote that explains this. “What drives the business is the marginal cost, not the total cost,” says Ronald Ripple, a finance and energy business professor at the University of Tulsa. “Even at low prices, the production is still contributing something to cover the upfront investment.” The average person has no idea what the risk and investment can be to drill and produce oil.

As a result, the global supply of oil is what economists call “inelastic.” Even if prices crater, the oil majors and sheiks keep pumping more or less the same quantities. They’ll only stop when prices drop below the variable cost—and for most wells, they seldom sink that far.

Another determinant of oil prices, now, is demand. Oil consumption in the U.S. has fallen by over 8% since 2010, and the shrinkage in Europe even greater. Reports indicate that China and India oil usage has not accelerated anywhere near what had been forecasted. The drop in oil prices from over $100 in May to $48 has not caused a major or even minor drop in overall production.

Unlike conventional production, shale wells have an extremely short life. To produce a constant or increasing revenue, producers must constantly drill new wells, since their existing wells span a mere half-life by industry standards. I have read that shale oil production is more like mining than conventional oil production. Mining companies must dig new holes, year after year, to extract reserves of copper or iron ore.

Today the breakeven cost for producing shale oil is $65 per barrel, according to a study by Rystad Energy and Morgan Stanley Commodity Research. Producing shale oil at $65 a barrel and selling it at $48 is a rapid way to go broke.

To make matter worse, we are seeing the same actions that every crises causes. I just read that the count of rotary rigs in use has fallen from 1,930 to 1,881 since October. We saw the same reduction in offshore rigs when our government over regulated an entire industry because of the isolated drilling accident in the Gulf of Mexico. The US government is a bigger enemy than OPEC. Living in Texas it is sad to see the thousands of jobs we have created that are vanishing with the small operators going broke.

If demand for oil rebounds as some say it will and the price of oil rises above $65 again, producing shale oil may once again be profitable. I for one will be surprised if the enemies of fracking, our government and Saudi Arabia, will ever allow that to happen. I just read that the Saudis have invested heavily to gain extra capacity of 2 million barrels a day. The Saudis with our government support will use that excess to hold prices at $50 a barrel to stop all shale production.

Maintaining current production will take a massive new conventional drilling program. I am sure that the current US President and Congress will make sure that this does not happen. The political points they will enjoy with $2.00 a gallon gas will far outweigh the loss of many thousands of lost jobs that are inevitable.

If buying OPEC oil and cheaper gasoline makes you happy just re-elect your Congressperson and Hillary in 2016. If you are an unemployed petroleum industry American and you really want to work for an above average living you probably live in the wrong country.

The political views are mine alone. I wonder how many Americans agree with me?   C Brewer

REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP

I just read an article titled, “Boehner Takes Revenge” that is a perfect example of what is wrong with American politics and why America is totally leaderless. Revenge is not how you unite America as Obama, Reid, Holder, Sotomayor, Hagen, Pelosi and Ginsberg have demonstrated these past six years. When will America elect real leaders to manage our future rather than the career politicians we have today?

This article was well written by Jake Sherman and John Bresnahan and I just want to share some of the facts they recorded along with some personal observations.

  1. Immediately after he was re-elected Speaker Boehner removed Daniel Webster and Richard Nugent from the powerful “Rules Committee”. Not because they are not well qualified but obviously because they voted against him. Webster, supported by Nugent, openly ran against Boehner for Speaker. Webster is the former Florida statehouse speaker and state Senate majority leader. Boehner’s actions prove that political revenge is the way to demonstrate GOP “Leadership” in Washington today.
  2. The article also reported that Boehner and his power allies have warned all who opposed him that other retaliation could be expected. Retaliation is another new word used in Washington as a replacement for “Leadership”. This new Republican “cabal” is carefully reviewing the list of members who voted against the speaker. They are also reviewing every Republican who voted against the procedural motion in December on the so-called “crominibus,” the $1.1 trillion spending package to keep the government open through to September. This internal power struggle within the Republican party is another example of how our so called leaders continue to destroy each other rather than focus on conservative values and uniting America that they were elected to provide.
  3. Another example of discontinuity, Virginia Rep. Scott Rigell got appointed to the Appropriations Committee even though he voted for Webster for Speaker. That appointment has infuriated other Boehner loyalists. This is just another example of how the Republicans have mastered the art of “Self-Destruction”. Watch how they implode and divide themselves openly during the next Presidential primaries like they have done for far too many years. Boy, the Democrats must be really getting excited to watch them tear each other apart on live TV these next several months.
  4. Tuesday’s vote resulted in twice as many anti-Boehner votes compared with 2013, noted Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.), one of the most vocal thorns in Boehner’s side. Huelskamp said he was unhappy that “only three of the freshmen class” voted against Boehner. Huelskamp said he was denied a chance to get back his seat on the Agriculture Committee because of his opposition to Boehner. The Kansas Republican was removed from the panel in 2012. “I am already hearing from my colleagues, and myself, about retaliation against those who voted their conscience, their constituents, their principles, to change the status quo,” Huelskamp said. “My colleagues fully expect that. That’s what they expect out of this leadership team.”Iowa GOP Rep. Steve King, who voted against Boehner, said, “If you cannot vote your conscience … then it’s clearly a dysfunctional system here.”
  5. Boehner and his “clique” appear convinced that, despite 25 defections, they have a firmer grip on power than ever. They say their “working majority” — members whom Boehner can work with — is around 220 members. “We don’t need these fringe guys as much as we did anymore,” said a GOP leadership aide, speaking on condition of anonymity. “We can let them walk on certain bills, and it just won’t matter. That gives us breathing room.

Watching the internal blood-bath within the Republicans is becoming more like a TV soap opera than managing the business of our country. Unity died in America and the GOP after Ronald Reagan finished his second term. Democrats thrive on conflict and hate and relish the self-destruction actions of the Republicans who have perfected political suicide with revenge and retaliation.
